| Elite Force 2 - Server list gone... |

And once again the Activision Master Server for EF2 has disappeared, naturally when retrieving the server list in-game it will come up empty. No servers will be displayed, but that doesn't mean that the servers are not running any more.
GSIO has provided a new Masters Server for EF2, the only two problems are that nor the sever or the client use that new Master server automatically.
- For windows users we have a tool that will alternate between the Activision and the New Master server from GSIO. Download it, start it and it will do the work for you.
- For mac users we have a tutorial available
- For server hosts the instructions are quite simple, open your server-config file and add 1 new line:
set sv_master2 ef2master.gdev-rp.org Please note that it may take up to 30 sec in the connection screen before you will actually be allowed to enter any server.
This is due to the servers still trying to authenticate your copy of the game, which they can't since the Activision Authentication Server is down as well. After 10 to 30 sec they give up and let you connect unauthenticated.

We have been under heavy spam attack for the last 3 years, there for we have decided to disable most of the interactive features on this website.
For those of you who have still been visiting this place, you will be delighted to hear that we are going to trash this old Website, in favour of the new Joomla CMS driven Website.
We know that Joomla doesn't have even 1/3 of the features that our current CMS called DevilZ Clan Portal, in short DZCP has, BUT we feel that changing to Joomla provides us with a more open and less clan focused CMS that will serve us better for our future use of the Website.
We have been thinking of using Durpal, and maybe we will one day, (and if it is only to pleasure Modboy) but for now we give Joomla a go. So if you have any Plug-ins Modules and otherwise useful Add-ons that you might want to suggest to us, please do so.
Use our forum if you want to contact us or use the HaZardModding contact form that will deliver the messages to us as well, but spam Free! We are very sorry to make it hard for you to reach us but there is not much we can do about those spammers.
The old articles downloads and news from this website will be available on the new Website as well, and this old website will Remain operational in the background until we have the transferred everything to the new website.

| Activsision Master Server is back again (for now)... |

Suddenly the Activision Master Server decided to come back again...
So here is what we are going to do about that.
1. GSIO his Master will stay, just in case this happens again...
2. If you want to change the hosts file back, feel free to do so manually or use the automated tool for windows.
3. If you host a server make sure you have BOTH Master Servers in your config file, as follows:
set sv_master1 ef2master.activision.com
set sv_master2 ef2master.gdev-rp.org

Elite Force II Master Server fix tool.
We are happy to be finally able to provide you are tool which will edit your hosts file for you without any risks for your system.
Unfortunately this tool is currently only available for the Windows Operating System, we will keep you informed if that changes.
Download and run the tool to route your game to the new master server.

| Alternative/New Master Server on-line |

Gsio01 has created a new master server for Elite Force II with his magic powers. To retrieve the list of servers from the new Master you need to modify a system file.
The changes to the file will make your computer use a different IP for the address of the Activision master-server, this is necessary since the game offers no option to change the master server.
Please be aware that this method is also used to redirect users to fake-websites, so it is likely that your Virus-scanner or Security Software might give you a warning.
How to change ef2master.activision.com to the new master server ?
For this operation you will need to have administrative privileges!
___Windows___
1. Open the file named simply "hosts" in "C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc" (assuming you installed windows on drive "c").
2. Make sure you use Notepad.exe or any else text editor to edit the hosts file, Wordpad or Word or Office will !!!N O T!!! work!
3. Scroll down to the bottom line and add the following line:
78.46.64.6 ef2master.activision.com
4. Save the file and reboot your Operating System.
___MAC OS-X 10.2+___
1. Access the TERMINAL.
2. Browse the directory using the command string:
cd /private/etc
3. Open the hosts file in the nano text editor:
sudo nano hosts
4. Scroll down to the bottom line and add the following line:
78.46.64.6 ef2master.activision.com
5. Press Control and X and save the file with administrative privileges.
6. Reboot your Operating System.
If you are running your own server add the following cvar in the server-config file, make sure the server loads the config file on start-up:
set sv_master2 ef2master.gdev-rp.org
If you host a server from inside the game menu you should type into the console (use the middle mouse button to paste text from the clipboard into the game console):
seta sv_master2 ef2master.gdev-rp.org
There will be no changes for the Authentication server, since we don't intend and are legally not allowed to validate your cd-key, which means you can still use a creative combination of letters and numbers to create your own custom cd-key.

| Can't find servers for Star Trek Elite Force II ? |

Activision has officially ended the support for Elite Force II.
Activision the Publisher of Elite Force II was hosting the Master- and Authentication-Servers for the game. The Master-Server was providing the Server list for all Internet-Server.
This events has two effects:
1. New Servers will no longer be visible, and if you click on get list, your current server list will be overwritten and no servers will be displayed.
2. The CD-Key saved in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREActivisionElite Force II) will no longer be checked when connecting to a server.
For Effect NO.:1
Don't worry, there is a temporary solution for the empty Server-List issue, download the work-around, follow the install instructions and you will see all the standards servers again.
We are pretty sure there will be a community sponsored Master-Server soon.
For Effect NO.:2
The Authentication-Server does no longer check for a valid cd-key.
The Authentication-Server was also preventing the game from working without a cd-key or installation after a Operating System re-installation or when being copied from one hard drive to another. |

| Coop H'atoria Outpost - BETA - RELASED |

HaZardModding has released its new High Quality Map, Coop H'atoria Outpost.
Coop H'atoria provides a small story and a completely new created Environment, from the Klingon-Base to the Federation Outpost created for the HaZardModding Co-op Mod 4.3 and above.
You will need to Co-op Mod to play the map unless you join on the official HZM Co-op Server. We recommend the Co-op Mod mini (5MB).
The Map features a Klingon Underground-Base connected with a Federation-Outpost. The Federation-Outpost offers high interactivity, such as a working Holodeck offering 3 different Holo-Programs, a Restroom with Water which can be disabled in the basement, Replicators replicating weapons and health and more!

| EF2: Master Server Down AGAIN |

UPDATE - THE MASTER SERVER IS BACK ON-LINE AGAIN
We have learned that the Master Server of ef2 is currently down.
Perhaps Activision is just making some changes on their servers again.
How ever, the servers are still on-line, and you can still connect to them via IP. To make sure you have all the IPs here is a screenshot of the servers taken from Qtracker.
